Jane Gillie studied at the GSMD and Salzburg Mozarteum and has spent most of her working life playing violin, viola and baroque violin in ensembles and orchestras, including Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, English Baroque Soloists with John Eliot Gardiner, ROH Covent Garden, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Orchestra of English National Opera at the Coliseum, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and Salzburg Camerata Academica. Alongside this she has always taught, and for the last few years she has dedicated more of her life to teaching which she finds endlessly stimulating and interesting. She has learned a lot from the DaCapo approach and feels in tune with their open mindedness and finding the source of all music-making in the human voice. Jane is also a teacher of the Alexander Technique and has an honours degree in Humanities from the Open University.
