|The Founders' Day event on Thursday 23rd November was a wonderful evening in all sorts of ways: great company and food in the lovely surroundings of Rosslyn Hill Chapel, and a fabulous performance by cellist Joely Koos which was both entertaining and breathtaking. She guided us through the Bach cello suite number one with fascinating background detail about (and audience participation in!) the dances which make up its various movements – and then performed three pieces for cello and voice which were utterly absorbing: intense, extraordinary, unforgettable. |
The evening was hosted by DaCapo’s lovely teenagers who, led by teacher Louis D’Heudieres, also sang Billy Joel’s "The Longest Time" to start off the evening.
